Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is the fourth title of the Sly Cooper series of platform stealth video games. The game picks up right where Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves left off, which Sly needed to reunite with his gang to locate the lost Thievius Raccoonus. With new masks, treasures, and the introduction of Sly's ancestors, the game is an exciting return-to-form for the franchise. It's been 8 years since the previous Sly title, how does the new game stack up? The verdict is in! Be sure to let us know your thoughts once you play the game.

Loved it

Game Informer

9/10

"After playing so many shooters in recent years, Thieves in Time’s old-school platforming is a breath of fresh air. While it doesn’t innovate, its subtle craftsmanship and varied gameplay reasserts what we’ve always known: This genre still has something important to add to the game industry. I hope this game meets with the success it deserves."

IGN

8/10

"It does so many things right and harkens back to a different time in gaming while modernizing the experience for a new generation. It may not wow you like some of the best PlayStation exclusives have in the past, but needless to say, the wait for a continuation of the Sly saga was officially worth it."

GameSpot

7.5/10

"There are occasional stumbles, but Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is another good entry in the platforming series."

Thought it was OK

Machinma

7/10

"The whole experience feels like an anachronism. Younger gamers might accept some of these problems more readily, and when the game is on, it’s a lot of fun. If you enjoy the simplicity of the gameplay or collecting lots and lots of shiny objects, you’ll get tons of that here, giving you more entertainment after you’ve completed the main story."

EGM

6.5/10

"Ultimately, Thieves in Time is still an above-average platformer, but it’s not nearly as good as it could’ve been."

Eurogamer

6/10

"In many respects, then, Thieves in Time is a fitting successor to the PS2 titles: Sly Cooper games were always solid genre pieces first and foremost, where likable characters and decent mechanics masked a journeyman feel to some of the content, and the same is true here. Unfortunately, the rest of the world has moved on considerably in the intervening years, and so what starts off as a welcome regression quickly loses its verve."
