Hey there Sly Cooper Wikians, this is Shrev64, bringing you your Thievius News Update on the 2nd day of 2013. Before I proceed, please be warned that there are spoilers regarding Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time in this News Post.
As most of you may know, there was quite a lot of information revealed about Thieves in Time since our last News Blog - in particular, there was the 2-hour Livestream that IGN had with Sanzaru Games.
In this Livestream, the Paris prologue was shown, where Sly Cooper, Bentley, and Murray all get some hands-on action. This also opened the story, where Sly has to steal a famous Japanese artifact from a Museum in Paris to revisit his ancestor in Feudal Japan: Rioichi Cooper. The opening cinematic also revealed that Penelope was missing!
The Livestream continued on with the first episode of the game, Turning Japanese. The first few missions, up until the Operation, were shown, including Sly's Samurai Costume, a new, costume-savvy RC Car, and freeing Rioichi from his prison. As always, there was Rioichi gameplay, and a few Secret Sly Masks collected. Clockwerk was reportedly seen in Japan as well, but we'll have to wait for further confirmation on that.
Throughout the Livestream, Mat and Glen showed off some new Hacking abilities Bentley had picked up. Nothing much was new here, but it was cool to see Bentley get a "Ninja Turtle"-esque alter ego.
In Thieves in Time, the Safehouse is also referred to as the Hideout. Unlike previous games, the Safehouse contains a gallery, an arcade, the Van, as well as a ping-pong table. As of the point of the Livestream, the arcade was not operatable, but it'll be interesting to see what it can do. In the ping-pong table, Sly and Bentley can have at each other while Murray decides to take a snooze. The gallery is where the Gang's Loot is shown off after being sold.
Sanzaru also mentioned of a new demo for Thieves in Time that is set out to come in January. This demo is expected to contain the Paris Prologue. The exact date is unknown, but keep your eyes out for it.
