Hey Wikians, this is Shrev64, bringing you your Thievius News Update! As most of you probably know, a new trailer for Thieves in Time was shown yesterday, and came with quite a lot of information. If you watched the trailer, you would have noticed that a new ancestor was unveiled to be playable. This was later confirmed to be Salim al-Kupar, Sly's Arabian ancestor. The background behind Salim is that he is nearing retirement, however something's stopping him, which brings him back into the thieving industry.

Salim comes with his own ancestral technique, the Climbing Cobra! This move allows Salim to quickly climb ropes and poles to evade attacks. Salim also comes with his own paraglider: his flying carpet. This allows Salim to glide across gaps with ease and Arabian style.

The trailer also showed Sly's new Gypsy Costume, whose former owner was Salim himself! This costume allows Sly to slow down time, and also acts as a lethal cane. This is the first costume we've seen that also allows Sly to perform his other thievius tactics.

A minor setback to most Sly Cooper fans, however, was the release date. At the end of the Gamescom trailer came a new release date, as "Early 2013". This date was later specified to be February 2013, which came from Sony in response to some questions from IGN.[1]

In the PlayStation Blog that followed all of the trailer buzz, Glen Egan cleared up some stuff regarding how the Vita and PS3 will interact with each other. He introduced a feature called Augmented Reality, which allows the player to use their Vita as a sort of treasure gatherer, in combination with the PS3. The PS Vita (with a Thieves in Time Vita copy) acts as a sort of X-ray goggles; just point your Vita to your TV screen, take a picture, and anything in orange is treasure! All the player has to do then is simply tap the Vita screen where their desired treasure is, and a pointer appears on the PS3, directing the player where to go![2] Pretty neat, eh?

In addition, Sony announced their new Cross-Buy deal. Currently officially announced for Thieves in Time, Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault, and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, when one buys the PS3 version of the game, they get the Vita version of the game, at no extra cost! This allows the player to get the true gaming experience!

Lastly, a GameTrailers video was unveiled, which showed Murray gameplay in Arabia, as well how Sly's Gypsy costume is utilized. It also showed the "Job Failed!" screen, which is something new.

Another piece of news that pertains to the wiki is that there is now a Facebook page! You may have noticed our new link to it via the Monobook logo! Updates and information regarding the wiki and anything big we find, we'll post it there. Like it to keep in touch!

Phew! That was a lot of info for just one day! Hopefully we'll see more soon to come!
