This walkthrough of Danger in the Skies in Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves will help you fly Sly's biplane through the area, destroying enemy guns and fighters. Then you'll have to turn your attention to Dr. M, who appears riding an unlikely vehicle. After you've dealth with that, you'll finally get to peak inside the Cooper vault. As Sly, buzz around the area in your biplane, taking out the antiaircraft guns with your own machine guns, dodging their blasts with well timed barrel rolls, or simply by swerving. Try not to crash into the walls, and avoid the missiles at all costs. If you run low on ammo, look for refills dangling in a convenient place, just like when you were battling in the dogfight in Holland. Keep destroying the gun emplacements until there are none left, at which point a new threat will arise.Dr. M's fighters are just huge birds, but they pack quite a punch if they hit you. Try to keep that from happening as you pursue them, blasting them with your gun whenever you get the chance. These creatures will take a few shots to go down, so try to eliminate each one rather than spreading your damage around. You need to shoot down 20 of these menaces, so keep at it until you do.Now Dr. M will send up his most hideous creation yet, a huge robotic flying fish. It's equipped with all manner of weapons, so be prepared to dodge all of it, and keep pounding it with your machine gun. The fish will also occasionally set down a shifting grid of barriers, and you'll have to fly through it precisely to avoid taking damage. Keep pumping shells into the giant beast, until the cutscene plays. At its end, Sly, Bentley and Murray will finally enter the legendary Cooper vault.
